An Ode for Arbor Day

Updated: Apr 27, 2020

How do I love trees? Let me count the ways…

I love trees from the depth to the breadth to the height

A home for the squirrels and creatures of flight

A camping trip warmed by the grace of their fire

Childhood memories of worn tire swings

Family nature walks, counting the rings

Resting in shade, the poets’ inspire

All the graces of all kinds of trees

Cleansing the air, embracing the earth

Charming us all as they sway in the breeze

A world of trees to enjoy as we please

A life without trees would be dearth

Of hammocks, and love notes and colorful leaves.
